EGPA Announces €15,000 in Travel Grants for EGPA 2026 Conference in Rome

Diogo Pereira,

EGPA will make available €15,000 in Travel Grants in 2026 to support PhD candidates and early-career researchers who will take an active part in the EGPA Annual Conference, to be held in Rome in August 2026, as well as related activities, including the PhD Symposium.

The Travel Grant scheme aims to reduce financial barriers to participation while promoting geographical, institutional, and thematic diversity within the EGPA community. Priority will be given to applicants with accepted contributions in Permanent Study Groups (PSGs), Ad Hoc Groups (AHGs), or Standing Panels (SPs), particularly those with limited institutional funding.

The full Call for Applications—including eligibility criteria, the maximum amount per grantee, and access to the online application form—will be published in January 2026. Applications will be open until 26 April 2026, with results communicated on 26 May 2026.

Further information and updates will be published on the EGPA website.

Stay tuned!

Mr Amitava Basu was a cherished colleague, mentor, and friend whose quiet generosity and readiness to help defined his presence in every professional space he entered. Within IASIA, he served with distinction as Board Member (2022–2025), Functional Vice-President for Regional and International Cooperation (2025–2028), and Co-Chair of Working Group IV on Subnational Governance and Development, bringing careful judgment, deep collegiality, and an unwavering commitment to strengthening cooperation across the global community of public administration schools and institutes. He was not only a leader but a listener: thoughtful, respectful, and always willing to make time for others, especially younger colleagues and students. His intellectual generosity and human warmth strengthened, made IASIA more inclusive, and made it more collaborative.
