The book, part of the IIAS Public Governance Series, provides a comprehensive exploration of India’s public administration, offering a strategic roadmap for achieving developed nation status by 2047.

“Viksit Bharat@2047: Governance Transformed” delves into the historical evolution, contemporary challenges, and future prospects of public administration in India. It examines the complexities of governance across federal, state, and local levels, addressing critical themes such as digital transformation, citizen-centric governance, social justice, gender inclusion, and climate change. The book also provides detailed insights into key policy sectors, including health, education, rural and urban development, agriculture, and international relations.

Authored by a team of experts with deep knowledge of India’s governance landscape, the book blends academic rigor with practical insights. It serves as an authoritative reference for early-career civil servants, policymakers, government administrators, and academics worldwide.

The IIAS Public Governance Series aims to make its scholarly content widely accessible, with volumes available for free as e-books and for purchase in paperback. As IIAS approaches its centenary in 2030, this publication marks an important milestone in its mission to foster global knowledge exchange in public governance.
