IIAS Council of Administration Announces Finalists for Presidency (2025–2028 Term)

Diogo Pereira,

The International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) has entered a decisive phase in the selection of its next President for the 2025–2028 term. In February, the IIAS Council of Administration convened to conduct hearings with the shortlisted candidates. Following thoughtful deliberation and discussion, the Council has resolved to forward three distinguished candidates to the General Assembly for election:

  • Alexander Balthasar, Austrian Ministry of Defense

  • Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi, former Minister for Public Service and Administration, South Africa

  • Voruganti Srinivas, Indian Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances

These hearings are available online and offer IIAS members and stakeholders a valuable opportunity to engage with the candidates' visions for the future of the Institute. Presentations and discussions addressed critical themes in global public administration, institutional leadership, and the strategic role of IIAS within an evolving international context.

IIAS members are encouraged to inform their vote by revisiting the hearing presentations and reflecting on the insights shared by the candidates. The election will be held during the Extraordinary General Assembly on June 3, 2025. Please note that only members who have settled their 2024 membership contributions will be eligible to participate in this important decision.

As IIAS continues its mission to improve public governance research, education, and practice, the selection of its next President marks a defining moment for the community. We thank all candidates for their commitment and the inspiring contributions made throughout this process.
