IASIA Invites Proposals for New and Renewed Working Groups

Diogo Pereira,

The International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA) is inviting its members to help shape the next chapter of its Working Groups. As the field of public administration evolves, IASIA is reviewing the structure of the groups that form the scientific foundation of its Annual Conferences.

The call welcomes proposals for new Working Groups and for the continuation or revision of existing groups. Members may also express interest in serving as Working Group project directors or co-chairs. Current Working Groups must submit a proposal if they wish to be considered under the revised structure.

Working Groups bring researchers and practitioners together around shared areas of expertise. Their leaders develop conference sessions, mobilise contributions, support research and publications, and strengthen connections across IASIA’s international network.

Proposals and expressions of interest must be submitted in Word format by 6 October 2026 at 5:00 PM Brussels time to IASIA Executive Secretary Diana Muia at d.muia@iias-iisa.org. Applicants should use the relevant group or individual submission template provided with the call.

Submissions will be reviewed anonymously by the IASIA Working Group Committee and the IASIA Steering Committee on 12 October. A proposal will then be presented to the IASIA Board of Management for consideration.

IASIA encourages members from across its network to contribute their expertise and ideas to this process, helping ensure that its Working Groups remain responsive to emerging questions in public administration and public service.

The European Group for Public Administration (EGPA) invites scholars and practitioners to propose new initiatives for its 2027 Annual Conference, taking place at Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary, from 24 to 27 August 2027. EGPA provides a European forum for public administration scholars and practitioners to present research, exchange perspectives and develop collaborations across public administration, public management and public policy. The call welcomes proposals for three formats: Permanent Study Groups (PSGs), Ad Hoc Groups (AHGs) and Specialised Panels (SPs). EGPA looks forward to welcoming new initiatives, perspectives and research communities that will enrich its 2027 Annual Conference and contribute to the development of public administration research across Europe and beyond.

The conference introduced a call for papers across fourteen thematic tracks and an interactive programme to help participants navigate its activities.
