In a productive meeting held at the National Institute of Public Administration (INAP) in Mexico, on October 24th 2024, leading representatives from the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) and INAP gathered to discuss avenues for collaboration and the prospect of re-establishing INAP’s membership with IIAS as a national section.
The meeting brought together distinguished memebrs of both institutions, including Luis Miguel Martínez Anzures, President of INAP (Mexico); Rafael Martínez Puón, Director of the National School of Government Professionalization of INAP (Mexico); Sofiane Sahraoui, Director General of IIAS (Tunisia); Najat Zarrouk, President of the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA) (Morocco); and Cesar Alfonzo, Executive Secretary of IASIA and LAGPA (Brazil).
During the discussions, Director General Sofiane Sahraoui highlighted the historic partnership between INAP and IIAS, noting INAP's valued membership with IIAS since 1972. He formally extended an invitation for the institutions to renew its engagement as a national section within IIAS, emphasizing the mutual benefits and opportunities for growth and exchange that this renewed partnership could foster. This strategic move would further strengthen IIAS’s mission to foster cooperation and innovation across the global public administration landscape, while also enhancing Mexico's influence and contributions within the network.
This meeting signals a promising step toward closer cooperation between IIAS and INAP, as well as a reinvigorated commitment to improving public governance research, education and practice on a global scale.
