IIAS-KSG Mombasa Conference 2024 Kicks Off in Mombasa, Kenya

The highly anticipated IIAS-KSG Mombasa Conference 2024, jointly organized by the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) and the Kenya School of Government (KSG), commenced today in Mombasa, Kenya. The conference, which started with an array of committee meetings, concluded with the IIAS General Assembly, setting the stage for a transformative discussion on administrative sciences.

The conference continues tomorrow with its official opening ceremony. This will feature welcoming remarks from Prof. Ludeki Chweya, Director General of the Kenya School of Government (KSG), and Dr. Ra'ed Mohammed BenShams, President of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences. The ceremony will be followed by a Plenary Session on SDG 16.8: Broaden and Strengthen the Participation of Developing Countries in the Institutions of Global Governance, as well as various thematic track sessions.

  • Opening remarks by Mr. Amos N. Gathecha, EBS, Ndc (K), Principal Secretary at the State Department for Public Service; Ministry of Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management; and Hon. Moses Kuria, HSC, Cabinet Secretary at the Ministry of Public Service Performance and Delivery Management.

  • Messages of solidarity from Mrs. Nardos Bekele-Thomas, Chief Executive Officer of the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), and George K. Scott, Secretary General of the African Association of Public Administration and Management (AAPAM).

It is with the greatest sorrow that we heard the passing away of our dear colleague and friend Dr. Fabienne Maron on December 30th, 2024.  This sad event came as a shock to all of us as we were away on the end of year break. Our greatest regret is that we were not around when she said good bye.
